The ice-cream VaN wasn't running when we went to see it in Bolton. The engine started but the clutch had gone so the VaN wouldn't move. The chimes were working so we bought it and had it delivered to London the following week on the back of a low-loader. I was relieved actually because I had brought along warm clothes, hat, gloves and a wind-up radio in anticipation of driving it back to London that day.
A good friend of ours serviced the VaN and got her up and running. He broke numerous spanners and socket sets trying to remove rusted nuts on the VaN. He bled the clutch and drove it up and down the yard a few times.
I got it insured for midday and got to the VaN at midday very excited. We filmed me driving it for the first time and when I turned the key the battery was dead.
Then after charging the battery for about 2 hours the VaN started and we resumed filming. I went to put it in gear and the clutch had completely gone.
